DIY: Mason Jar Soap Dispenser

Tuesday, January 21, 2014

After we finished our Mason Jar Pendant Chandelier we had a few mason jars left over, and it sparked our creativity! One of the projects we were inspired to create was new soap dispensers, and were kind of in love with them.

We bought a few soap dispensers, with tops we liked, on sale at our local Home Goods.

Then we traced the top go the original dispenser onto the top of the mason jar and cut it out (carefully) with a knife.

If seen other tutorials that used glue to seal the top of the dispenser and was going to go that route till Joe suggested kitchen and bath caulk, genius!

We filled the top of the dispenser with the caulk.

Then pressed it firmly onto the top of the mason jar, it's okay if some of it comes out on the sides!

Next we put a small bead of the caulk at the base of the dispenser and smoothed it all out with a finger, including the excess from the top. We used a paper towel to clean up any of the caulk that had gotten on the lid.

24 hours later we had a great new soap dispenser!!
