One of us (me) is a super nerd when it comes to new technology, and it's completely transferred over since becoming a home owner.We're always trying to make upgrades to our home, so we wanted to explore some of the cool gadgets out right now in the world of home automation. We recently purchased the Schlage Touch Screen Deadbolt with Built in Alarm, and it is VERY cool.
A lot of thought and research went into this purchase. We wanted a lock that was safe, easy to access and affordable, and we found it. The selling feature for us was now we never have to make, or leave copies of our keys anywhere, we can make a code specific for anyone who needs to get into our house and then simply disable the code when they no longer need to get in.
Removing the VERY old original deal bolt actually turned out to be the only difficult part.
Bye bye old dead bolt!
Lucky for us our door was already correctly aligned so Joe got to work following the installation guide.
After 20-30 minutes of fiddling… TA DA!
